Aviation Purchasing Assistant

Supervisory Responsibilities None
Location Ottawa office

The Aviation Purchasing Assistant works with the Purchasing and Logistics departments in the timely ordering, receipt and dispatch of the parts and materials necessary to support the company aviation activities.

Responsibilities

  • Purchase aircraft parts and supplies;
  • Receive, sort and issue incoming parts and materials;
  • Maintain sufficient stock levels and inventory lists;
  • Ensure aircraft components, parts and material documents received carry proper release certification (or the equivalent) and that parts used, remain traceable to that certification;
  • Produce reports from the Aircraft Management System(AMS);
  • Ensure proper packing and shipping of items sent to the field, for repair or overhaul;
  • Assist as required to ensure the timely completion of company, customer and regulatory audits;
  • Liaise with other departments on shipping matters as required;
  • Local pickup and delivery of goods as required; and
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Completion of postsecondary education in a related discipline;
  • Previous experience with parts support in the aviation industry is an asset;
  • Demonstrated high proficiency in LibreOffice and/or MS Word;
  • Familiarity with database entry and Adobe Acrobat;
  • Familiarity with aviation paperwork, processes, and procedures, an asset;
  • Knowledge of AMS and inventory tracking software is considered an asset;
  • Ability to obtain a Transport Canada Airside Pass, TDG and forklift certificate;
  • Valid Canadian Drivers Licence;
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs;
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills (written and oral);
  • Ability to multi-task, follow instructions and work with minimal supervision; and,
  • Available to work after-hours occasionally as required.
