Aircraft Maintenance Engineer - Structures


Job Location: Ottawa, ON

This position reports to the Specialized Work Manager and Ottawa Maintenance Manager.

Responsibilities of the Position

  • Maintain the company aircraft as directed within the scope of license, capabilities, and authority granted in accordance with the MPM and CARs;
  • Perform sheet metal, composite or other structural activities on various aircraft and components as required;
  • Record all work done on appropriate forms and provide an ACA release as required;
  • Supervise, mentor and train apprentices as required;
  • Confer with the Maintenance Manager(s) to identify aircraft, shop and field issues and to discuss maintenance requirements and solutions;
  • Understand, comply and promote all company policies and procedures including reporting of hazards and incidents encountered in daily operations;
  • Maintain a positive attitude toward personal and professional growth;
  • Assist in the activities carried out by the maintenance group;
  • Maintain a safe and clean work environment; and
  • Willing to travel domestic and internationally to perform repairs in the field.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Valid Transport Canada Aircraft Maintenance Engineer license type “S”;
  • Experience on C208 and DHC-6 aircraft a definite asset;
  • Valid passport and driver's licence;
  • Ability to obtain a Transport Canada restricted area pass;
  • Excellent organization skills, ability to multitask and meet deadlines; and
  • Available to work after hours occasionally as required.
