Administrative Assistant, contract


The Administrative Assistant supports the geophysics team in preparing reports for clients as well as performing administrative duties supporting SGL's general operations.

Responsibilities of the Position

  • Work closely with geophysicists to create, edit and format reports for clients (calibration, data acquisition and processing, technical, and interpretation) in English, French, and sometimes Spanish;
  • Provide administrative support to geophysics, marketing and engineering departments;
  • Liaise with management, diplomatic personnel and field personnel worldwide;
  • Backup to the receptionist to receive and direct incoming phone calls;
  • Backup for the travel coordinator as needed;
  • Occasionally translate documents as needed;
  • Understand, comply with and promote all company safety precautions and policies including reporting hazards and incidents encountered in daily operations; and
  • Perform other administrative duties as required.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Completion of post-secondary education an asset;
  • Two (2) years of related office experience an asset;
  • Demonstrated high proficiency in LibreOffice, MS Office Suite and Adobe Acrobat;
  • Demonstrated experience proofreading and editing complex documents;
  • Detail oriented and organized;
  • Previous experience in a legal or technical environment an asset;
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in English (French and/or Spanish considered an asset).
